Vacancy Announcement  

Position: Field Assistant - Enumerator

No. of Vacancies: 2 Employees

Duty Station: Erbil

Duration of Contract: Four months (1st December 2020 – 31st of March 2021)

Project Summary:

Empowerment of at-risk and acutely vulnerable out-of-camp IDPs communities through MPCA and referral services provision in the context of the Covid-19 outbreak in Kurdistan Region of Iraq

Job Summary:

The Field Assistant - Enumerator, under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and overall supervision of the Director of Programs will be responsible for day-to-day activities of the project. The tasks include beneficiary registration, data collection and post monitoring distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Field Assistant – Enumerator shall perform the following duties:

1- Collect data and information in the field through interviews of individuals, families, focus group discussions, field visits and surveys,

2- Ensure collected data is accurately recorded and cross-check information with the database entry,

3- Capture data using digital data entry technology provided, document all the findings in the provided data collection tools and report the data to the supervisor,

4- Support in the implementation of activities including planning, coordination, and mobilization,

5- Draft and translate correspondence and other materials from Arabic into English and vice-versa, Kurdish into English and vice-versa, as needed and assist with interpretation,

6- Liaise and communicate with WEO staff in providing logistical and administrative support, as directed,

7- Contact and maintain relationship with the project stakeholders,

8- Coordinate with the Mayor office and Government Agencies for collecting required information, which is needed for the implementation of the project,

9- Submit regular detailed progress report and weekly report with monitoring updates seen in the field from individual interviews,

10- Take full responsibility for archiving the documents, making sure they are kept safe and easily retrieved under supervision of the Supervisor,

11- Provide regular monitoring visits on regular basis at field level,

12- Assist in the post distribution monitoring (PDM) activities, through collecting data from the beneficiaries and reporting the data to the supervisor,

13- Ensure the implementation of WEO activities in a participatory, culturally- and gender-sensitive manner,

14- Report to the Supervisor for any changes needed for the project or any further suggestions,

15- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor University Degree in law, sociology, social studies, or political sciences, 

- At least one year of related experience in humanitarian field,

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Arabic and Kurdish languages are a must, English language is an advantage,

- Ability to work independently and confidence to undergo household visits,

- Computer literacy to be able to work on smart phone-based data collection applications,

- Demonstrated experience in household surveys (baseline/evaluations),

- Excellent teamwork skills,

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs,

- Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision,

- Strong organizational skills,

- High professional ethics and confidentiality standards in a diverse workplace,

- Conducting field trips and travel to other cities as per job requirement,

- Flexibility with regard to long working hours or working in weekends if required.
